Egmont Key is a state park and one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands remaining in the Gulf of Mexico

Declared a National Wildlife Refuge in 1974, Egmont Key offers a critical nesting area to Loggerhead Sea Turtles, Gopher Tortoises, and Box Turtles along with dozens of tropical migratory shorebirds.

Egmont key is an adventure style trip for the active and agile body persons. The vessel will beach as close to the waters edge as possible , once there you will need to navigate using the boat stairs to disembark the vessel.

Egmont is truly a historian’s dream with ruins of the forts which were built for the Spanish American war. The Island offers nature trails , concrete fort structures to climb and paths to walk, while the beach offers shelling and swimming in the typically clear and calm waters, plus you get to hang out with the local resident Gopher tortoises and other various wildlife.

Again, this excursion is for the energetic and mobile as physical demands may be required.
